Lost-foam Casting

Lost-foam casting (LFC) is a type of evaporative-pattern casting process that is similar to investment casting except foam is used for the pattern instead of wax. This process takes advantage of the low boiling point of foam to simplify the investment casting process by removing the need to melt the wax out of the mold.

Qiming Casting has a complete set of lost-foam production lines. We mainly use this production line to make some small sizes and large quantities of industry wear parts. Such as:

Lost-foam Casting Process

EPS Particle Material (Procurement) → Pre-expansion Beads → Maturation, Drying, Storage → Feeding Tank → Input into Aluminum Mold Cavity through Compressed Air → Compression in the Aluminum Mold using a molding machine, steam curing, followed by cooling → Removal of the White Mold → Entry into the Drying Oven → Manufacture Coating → Packing → Melting and Casting with Molten Steel → Unpacking → Heat Treatment → Grinding → Machining → Finished Product.
